Sizing Program - Silex Engineer

the release of Version II of
its exhaust sizing and selection
program for diesel and natural
gas engines. Silex’s
industry leading Web based
sizing program just got better.
 The Silex Digital
Engineer is the fastest and
easiest
way to select the appropriate
silencer for your application.
It also takes the time and
frustration out of calculating
pressure loss through each
system component and predicting
overall acoustical performance
of the exhaust system. With
Version II Silex introduces
the new sizing wizard, a significant
improvement in ease of use
and speed of selection.
Some of
the program’s
major enhancements include:
o New sizing Wizard that
guides you through the
creation and
selection of engines and
silencers for each new
project.
 o
Project listings can now be
sorted by either project
name, project number or
creation date. Users can
also archive
older projects that are
no longer required. This
added
functionality lets the
user quickly locate projects
without
scrolling through a long
list.
o Field specific
help has been added in the
detail
sections
to assist our customers
in understanding the
requirements for each field.
o Hundreds
of new OEM diesel and natural
gas
engines
have been added to
the online
database in order to
reduce the amount
of time spent searching
for engine information.
Silex
continues to update
this information
as data becomes available.
o Updated backpressure
calculations by silencer
series and orientation
to ensure that predictions
are more accurate.
o Addition of different
styles of flex
and wye connectors
designed to reduce
the backpressure
on specific
engine and connector
configurations.
o Faster piping
component selection
with more
options including
full or half
flow, units of measure
and more.
o
Improved project reports. The
project summary
report
can be run
with both acoustical
and backpressure
predictions
or separately.
The
Bill of Material
report now
lists
products by
description and can be
submitted
to Silex for
quoting purposes.
Version
II of the Silex Engineer
is designed to make
our customers’ job
easier and Silex is not
finished yet. Silex is
committed to
continually enhancing
the program based on the feedback
and requirements
of our customers.
