New High Performance Silencers

Silex Innovations Inc., the leading innovator in the design and manufacturing of silencers and exhaust systems for power generation and gas compression markets, announces two new lines of high performance silencers for diesel and natural gas engines.

As more stringent regulations are being implemented throughout the world, there is an increasing requirement for noise abatement. In response to this need, Silex has developed two new silencers. The new Super Hospital Plus and Power Puck silencers are designed to achieve maximum attenuation as well as minimize radiated breakout noise. An added feature of both the JE and the “Ice” Series Power Puck silencers is improved thermal control, lessening the need for thermal insulation blankets in enclosed applications.

The Super Hospital Plus, commonly known as the JE silencer is a cylindrical silencer with an insertion loss of between 40-55 dBA and is designed for installations where height restraint is not an issue. This silencer has improved performance across both low and high frequency bands.

The Power Puck silencer or PK series is designed specifically for enclosure and marine applications where height is critical. It is available in critical, super critical, hospital and super hospital plus grades, in both insulated and uninsulated versions. This silencer is also available in both single and dual inlet configurations.

Silex used ANSYS and CFD Analysis in the development of these products to tune both the acoustical performance as well as minimize backpressure constants on the engine. Both silencers are included in the Silex Web-based Sizing Program.

These new lines of silencers are designed to make our customers’ job easier and Silex is not finished yet. Silex is committed to continually improving and adding new products to its extensive line of silencers based on the feedback and requirements of our customers.
